The climatic features and the fact that this is undoubtedly an agricultural area, have influenced farmers in their choice of cultivation - the vineyard, cereals and the olive are the most beneficial. Throughout the territory of the whole Region, the composition of the soil is just right for the production of quality wines and oils.
THE WINE. One of the farming activities in the area which also gives a range of colours in the countryside, is the production of wine.

and take it home with you.
THE OLIVE TREE. The olive groves are dotted around the fields of crops and vines. This is a constant image on the route. You can purchase and taste the olive oil in the oil presses in the territory. Some of them bottle oil under the Madrid Oil Denomination of Origin.

BAKERY AND CONFECTIONARY PRODUCTS. Home-made products which will give your journey more flavour. Amongst them are the Hornazo – the typical bun with a boiled egg in the middle normally consumed at Easter, on Easter Sunday.
You can also buy the anisette rings, the Santa Lucía sweet egg yolks, “repápalos” (fine pastry coated in sugar), buns made with oil, sponge cakes, lard pancakes…
CARABAÑA WATER AND SOAP. The Carabaña medicinal water was declared apt for public consumption on 4 May 1928. Since 1904, the excellent Carabaña bath salts have been made from crystallising this water. Although it has been known since Roman times, it only started to be bottled in the XIX century with the birth of the industry which was to exploit it and give it international fame.
